A Pair of Suspects Formally Indicted for Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
Two individuals now face murder charges after the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
